Hand-crafted from select hard maple, each pair of nunchaku is turned from wood sourced together so both sticks match in grain and color. Every pair is precision-balanced to within 1 gram for consistent feel and reliable handling.

About the tapered octagon design
The tapered octagon offers a distinctive look and a responsive feel. The octagonal facets provide tactile feedback for grip and control.
Tapered nunchaku are lighter than straight octagon versions because less hardwood is used. That lighter weight and changing mass distribution make them preferred by some practitioners for speed and certain techniques.
Tapers are more difficult to manufacture and require greater skill to turn and finish, which makes well-made tapered nunchaku especially desirable for competition.
Note: Because of the reduced mass and altered balance, tapered nunchaku are not as inherently strong as straight-cut octagon nunchaku and can be more challenging to use for forms and precise control. They reward practice and skill.
